Match report Hursley Park won the toss and batted first (but no Vikram!)
Our new overseas player Pat Burns from Sydney opened the bowling from the sea end with a wide. He bowled with good pace and excellent line and finished with 8-3-21-2, both wickets coming from well disguised slower balls. He looks a good prospect for the season and will hopefully take lots of wickets. He was well supported by Jed Whitecross, and Harry Collier. Scott Curwood turned his arm over for a 4 over spell and looked dangerous once he had loosened up. Isshy making a return to the side after a 3 year absence bowled well and picked up 3 wickets including an exceptional catch at point by Harry. Andy Marston bowled an 8 over spell from one end and showed good control 8-2-22-2 (but shelled another caught and bowled chance.) At tea skipper Jack Marston would have been very happy with Hursley finishing their 40 overs on 179 for 8.
Jamie Mitchell batted superbly (55 off 65 balls) and quickly added 56 for the first wicket with Rob Jones (26).Following Jamies decision to retire/ out the middle order of Jordan, Jack and Harry missed out. Matt Shaw (27*) batted well with Nicky Wyatt (17) and at the death with Jed (18). Agonisingly Jed was bowled off the last ball with 2 runs needed for victory. An even close game than last week.
Again thanks to Dan for a good wicket/ nearly 360 runs at 4.5 an over. Once again thanks to Collette for a wonderful tea.
