Match report Firstly, my apologies that this result is so late being updated, but we were so late back from Grayshott (how is the Surrey border South East Hants???) that I could not put it on when I got home!!! Things started well, with Matt winning the toss and opting to bat. However, both he and Joe were out cheaply, being tempted into going for shots by some very tight bowling. Jack and Charlie steadied the ship and, when Jack was stumped, Gio continued the good work, but when he and Charlie were both out very quickly, the tail failed to wag and George was left 1 not out and Iori 0 not out, not having faced a ball! 102 was always going to be a hard total to defend and so it proved.We started the effort very well, Joe and Joseph taking the wickets of both of their openers cheaply, Rohan taking a sharp catch from Joseph's bowling. After 10 overs, we were at almost exactly the same point. We had been 46 for 2 and they were 49 for 2, but two of their batsmen (also their tight opening bowlers!) went on to big totals and completed their victory with 3 overs to spare. We generally played better than we had done against Hambledon, but were up against a side with a few very good players. That first elusive victory is not far away, I am sure!
