Match report On a cool evening at Ridge Meadow Portsmouth U15A lost the toss and Hambledon elected to bat. A sharp opening spell from Henry Farrant (1 for 23) brought him a deserved wicket and he was ably supported by Tom Kershaw (1 for 22). Hambledon stuggled against some accurate bowling by Dom Northey and Reuben McArdle (1 for 16)and Andy Marston snapped up 2 quick wickets (2 for 22). At half way both sides seeemed happy with 119 for 5.
Portsmouth got off to a flyer with Farrant and Toby Bonnett finding the boundary with glee. However when the openers fell in quick sucession Hambledon got on top and slowed the rate considerably. Will Smitherman (30 not out) and Jack Marston (48 not out)judged the run chase brilliantly and a flurry of boundaries took Portsmouth home by 8 wickets with 2 overs to spare.
