Match report Having won the toss we decided to bat first. With a fast outfield a high score was essential; unfortunately the visitors bowled well and our batsman struggled to get going, leaving the home side on 72-6 after 20 overs. A mention for the bowling of George Smith who managed to use his height to gain bounce that troubled the batsman - in fairness to our guys they are unlikely to have come across this type of bowling before and they handled the situation well; no doubt meeting this type of challenge will help in their development. The suspicion that our score was not high enough was realised as Cameron Quirk reached a quick 50 and the visitors reached the target in just over 10 overs.
Mentions for Joe Kooner-Evans who top scored 23*(31) and bowled 2 overs 1 wicket for 10 runs. Dan Wallis who opened the bowling with 2 overs for 7 runs was matched by Adam Joy which in the context of this game was very economical. Joe Hunter was excellent in the field and demonstrated intent with his batting 9(11).
