So our final league game of the season and a new look team strolled out under the captaincy of Adam, who promptly won the toss and elected to bowl. Thomas G and Harry openned the bowling with some good line and length deliveries. Pegging the batsman back until the third over when Havant stepped on the gas with some agressive shots and well deserved boundaries. Thomas L and Jospeh picked up the baton and produced their best bowling of the season. Joseph in particular found the perfect line and length and his accuracy was rewarded with four wickets. Rio and Darby took up the mantel and took a wicket each. Leaving Reuben to finish the innings, with some really pacey deliveries and impressive swing. Alongside the bolwing was exceptional fielding. Darby made some awesome boundary saving dives, while Adam continued to impress behind the stumps. At the end of the 16 overs we had restricted Havant to 73 for 6.

After a quick change around the boys went out to bat. Every one of the boys scored runs, both from the bat and thanks to some cheeky, at times very cheeky running when the ball went behind. Particularly pleasing was the aggressive shots played by Reuben and Harry who topped scored with 14 and 31 respectively. After our 16 overs the boys had scored 147 for just 2 wickets. A performance that they should all be proud of.

A huge thanks to our coach Jack, to Adam’s parent for the amazing match teas and of course all the parents who turned up to cheers on the boys.

Our next game is a friendly on 4th August and we will be arranging the annual parents Vs kids match later in the summer.

Finally I would like to add my thanks to the boys. Over the season they have given 100 per cent and it has been really pleasing to see how they have come on. On all fronts, blowing, batting and fielding there have been big improvements, so a big thanks to Jack and Shane, but also all the coaches who have been involved this season.
