Match report Some matches the kids are asking 'did we win' while you're frantically recounting with the opposition scorer. This definitely wasn't one of those - a huge margin of victory (mind you, the kids still asked...not sure which match they were watching).

Our big total was driven in the main by excellent running between the wickets, the best I've seen from the team, and beefy hitting from Dexter and Sam - Sam cannily targeting the short legside boundary down the hill, and Dexter peppering the longest boundary up the hill.

In reply, our bowling was as tight as a drum, and after 3 overs Waterlooville were 3-3, all of them to Alex but with great support from Jude. Some incautious running in the next pair brought 3 run outs as the field worked well together, and both Owen and James took 2 in 2 as wickets fell in groups.

By the end of it, Waterlooville were 70-15 - an excellent bowling performance all round, and some really good fielding to effect the run outs and catches - notably Jude (again!).

Some very good cricket in a match that had everything: a dog coming onto the pitch and running off with the ball. Dexter running 10 yards up to the stumps, and then throwing the ball and missing from a foot. Sam dancing the macarena to Dancing Queen by ABBA which was playing nearby....
