Match report An exciting first game of the season saw us lose by 2 runs to a strong touring team from Northern Ireland. Batting first Muckamore scored at a run a ball throughout the innings despite some excellent bowling. Liam Saville bowled well and took the first club wicket of the season bowling their opener behind his legs. Veteran Tim Bailey was unlucky to remain wicketless but bowled economically. Andy Marston was unlucky to only take one wicket, but he needs to hang on to caught and bowled opportunities. Jordan P-G ripped out their 4th wicket shortly before the end of the innings. Harry Collier (aka Kanu = he cant really be only 16!) bowled with great promise and could be a genuine all rounder.
Chasing 212 to win we got behind the run rate and lost 5 wickets before half way. An excellent 100+ partnership between Harry (50) and Jack Marston (70) put us back in the match and we lost in the last over by just 2 runs.
Excellent first game / played on a good surface - thanks for a great wicket to Dan Cornish our new grounds man.
