Match report Our first win of the season - well done lads !

What a transformation. A great contribution by everyone, including our XIIth Men / Super Subs Thomas and Oscar T who stepped in at the last minute to support the team.

Last week in our match report I asked for more runs from the bat and boy did you guys respond. Half of the team got double figures.

It was great to see Rory and James get their first boundaries - Seven of our eight main team players hit super boundaries and a great 6 was neatly dispatched by James. All of you displaying great confidence.

Monty, Charlie, James, Rory and George H all retired, Not Out. If you loose your wicket, we loose 5 runs...well done boys for protecting your wicket, it gives your team the advantage.

Wickets for Huw, Charlie, George H, George D and Oscar T. Each of you contributed a 5 run bonus to dent our opposition's total. Good work.

Great backing up from Charlie and good running between the stumps by everyone when byes were there to be taken.

Tenacious bowling when it was required, especially from Heath who managed a tidy maiden over, no mean feat for a budding U9 bowler. We gave away less extras than our opposition and lost less wickets as well.

Remember to leave those wide balls. If you "go for a wander" in an effort to hit a loose ball which has been pitched wide and you are lucky enough to hit the ball but can't complete a run, the ball is not deemed to be a "wide ball", your team does not gain the 2 runs from that wide ball.....wide balls are frustrating for the keen U9 batsman. Great to see the enthusiasm to score runs though.

Man of the Match goes to Heath for his maiden over and James for his massive 6 - Boom !
