đź‘€Notice of EGM & Change to Club Constitutionđź‘€

16 Apr 2025

Dear all,

You are invited to an Extraordinary General Meeting at St Helen's Ground on Saturday 3rd May at 8pm.  The aim of the meeting is the ratify updates to the club's constitution, and if there are no objections raised then it should take no more than 15 minutes.

Our club infrastructure project includes applications for grants from local organisations.  One of those applications has been rejected because the wording in our current constitution is at odds with our position as a Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC).  This is an error in our current constitution.

If we want to change the constitution, it has to be by member vote (section 14.1 of the constitution 🙂), so we would like to hold this quick meeting to approve changes.  The new draft constitution is attached to this email, and you can find the existing constitution on the website through 'coaching & training -> manager's portal'.  The significant change in question is to Section 15 'Winding up the club' - in our current version, we failed to remove some standard wording suggesting that assets could be shared between members on winding up, which is not possible for a CASC.

Practically, we will need at least 15 adult members present to do this (section 6.4!), so I've picked 8pm after our matches on 3rd May - I hope this helps make it easier to attend, and hope to see you there.

All the best,

Tom Newman
