Match report Firstly apologies for the delay in getting this up.

Sunday 2nd saw the As face Hambledon at St Helen's. In blustery conditions, we lost the toss and our opposition decided to put Portsmouth into bat. Opening the batting with Reuben and Bethan, they got the team off to a great start, playing some classy shots and utilising the short leg-side boundary. Having both retired, in came Ed and Heath who keen to accelerate the run rate, scored a succession of boundaries until a ball stayed very low and dislodged Heath's off stump. After Ed retired, Will, Aston and David followed - all contributing to our tally, which at the end of the 16 overs hit an impressive 157.

Following a quick turn-around, the boys and Bethan took to the field. Reuben got us off to a fly taking a wicket with his first ball, while Bethan, bowled with pace and precision. Next up Ed and Heath our spin-pace combo. With Heath restricting runs from one end, Ed's second over, saw the young leg-spinner bag a hattrick as he delivered three unplayable balls.

Aston, David and Will, cleaned up the tail bagging four wickets. A special mention to Darby, who yet again gave a brilliant performance behind the stumps.

All in all a strong performance from the team.

Man of the Match went to Edward for his hattrick and a solid performance with the bat.
