Match report Our skipper this evening was Oscar and he led Portsmouth into bowl first. We have seen some much more consistent bowling in the last couple of weeks and in his pairing with Emil as WK they showed some good promise with 10 dot balls between them leaving Gosport on a score of 29-0 at the end of the first 4 overs. Next up was James "rapid fire" Vick with a tidy over followed by Sam who took a wicket on his fourth ball. Last pair of Alex and Ben saw some fantastic bowling and wicket keeping efforts (improvements are really starting to show through) together with a superb run out in the last over by a throw from Sam, leaving Gosport on 76-2. Some very good backing up in the field this evening and a big improvement on previous weeks, well done everyone.

Onto Portsmouths batting innings and opening for us this evening were Ben and Alex. Some good running between the wickets and a lovely 4 for Ben saw a partnership of 11 for one wicket at the end of their 4 overs. Next in were Oscar and Emil, with Oscar stealing a cheeky single on his first ball. They both faced some tricky bowling and their pairing saw Portsmouth on 53-4 by the end of 8 overs. Last up (but as usual by no means least!) James and Sam put up a superb finish for Portsmouth scoring 19 runs for one wicket in their partnership including two boundaries for Sam. Unfortunately it wasn't to be Portsmouth's night and the final tally saw Portsmouth on 84, just short of Gosport's 102.

Man of the match went to Sam for taking both Gosport's wickets and his efforts all round.
