Match report So the hot streak continues - another scorcher at St Helen's, Jude winning the toss and choosing to field.

Immediate success, with Jude trapping Louis Ebbs LBW first ball, and James removing their no.3 similarly in the next over - but Burridge came back strongly, Josh Edwards particularly strong as Jude and James went for around 40 between them for 4 overs on Josh's way to retirement off 14 balls. George and Sam brought some control, George bowling Louis Lambert in his second over, before Sam stepped up for his second over with the score a respectable 60-3 off 7 overs. Mayhem followed - first ball the batter hit to James at cover and ran, James finding the stumps with a diving underarm; then 2 wickets in the following 2 balls clean bowled. Sam completed his hat trick, finding the edge off his 4th ball, Jasper confidently taking a rising ball. Burridge 60 all out after 7.4 overs!

Jude started our reply carefully, but with wickets at the other end (George bowled, cueing an ugly bat-throwing incident; Jasper bowled 3rd ball) recovery was required. Jude and Ollie Storey delivered just this, steady batting taking us to 29-3 when Jude was caught off Louis Lambert's bowling. James and Ollie pushed the field, before Ollie was run out and Thomas was bowled. With just 10 needed and lots of overs to get them, Sam and James pushed for the line, and with 4 for the win, James pulled out an audacious scoop over the slips to hit the winning runs.

A good win for Portsmouth, and great to see hat tricks and ramps on a sunny night at HQ! Lessons for us in staying calm when the batters are going after us, and waiting for our opportunities.
