Match report The Under 15A team came up short this evening against a very good Hambledon side. From the moment Matt lost the toss, we struggled to keep up with them. However, we started brightly with Joseph taking the wicket of one of their openers in his first over. When Charlie bowled their other opener in a wicket maiden, things started looking good, but a third wicket partnership of 50 and a retirement pushed their score on. When Matt bowled their new batsman first ball, it only brought in another batsman who ended up retiring. Unfortunately, Scarlett had to leave the field and play no further part in the match when the ball bounced up and hit her hard on the cheek as she stopped a certain boundary, so we wish her well. Hambledon reached 156 for 3, a good, if not insurmountable target. Joe batted very well, opening and reaching 33, but had little support. Jack, who batted so well against Havant, struggled to score and was well caught hitting out. Gio, Charlie, Adam, Rohan and Joseph all hit at least one four before getting out cheaply and with no Scarlett to wag the tail, we were all out for 94. Onwards and upwards to Grayshott next Friday!
