Dear Members and Friends
It's been a while since we last updated you on our exciting project to refurbish the Pavilion - We have been very, very busy !
Crowdfunder
The final Crowdfunder tally was over £22,600 and with Gift Aid contributions we will have generated around £27k towards the £75k expected project cost. One of the final donations to get us over the line was from the Shaw Family.
In his heyday, our President, Arthur Shaw was a left handed middle order batsman and right arm swing bowler. For those of you who donated to our fundraiser and claimed the top reward of a Match Day Experience with our President, we are sure you will get to hear all about his "Classy" 110 run score v Fareham.
Arthur spoke to Simon Carter from The Portsmouth News in early January about the project and his passion for the club.
If you are new to the club and have yet to meet Arthur he can be found on a summer Saturday afternoon, as a supporter, walking the boundary, joshing with his mates Fred Gardner and John Wyatt, maybe Keith Maslen, Ian Preston-Jones or Paul Flynn and occasionally behind the bar serving players, members and supporters a cool beverage. Seek Arthur out when you are next at the ground on a matchday, you will not be disappointed.
Club Chairman Rick Marston (L) and President Arthur Shaw (R)
