Match report VITAL WIN FOR 4s IN RELEGATION DOG FIGHT

A much needed 24 point maximum against fellow basement dwellers Bentworth increased the 4s' chances of division 5 survival at a sweltering Drayton Park

Wiseman (3 for 20) claimed a wicket with the first ball of the match after the visitors opted to bat, while reliable robot 'Clicky' Marston (4 for 18) was unplayable

Hill (38) top scored followed by extras (26) and Davis and Thomas added 35 for the last wicket as Bentworth closed on 154

Lewis Brown's run a ball 70 decided the match as a contest - the gritty Midlander struck nine 4s and two 6s - before Jones (22*) and Musselwhite (42*) steered the ship home with more than 10 overs to spare

The team now looks forward to next week's visit to Froxfield, the remaining opponent in the bottom four 'league within a league'

After being rained off against all three in the first half of the season, the side has the chance to reap one of the benefits of playing teams home and away, now in its second year in the Hampshire League where teams had played each other home or away in larger divisions since its formation in 1973.
