Match report A close fought match with some weary faces as a long school term draws to a close. Mayville sports day accounting for serval tired legs by the end of the evening.

Portsmouth batted first with Jake opening with Tashwn in only his second game. Some good bowling from P&S saw a couple of wickets falling but nonetheless the score board kept ticking over. Next up were Owen & Grayson against Hadley on debut for P&S who took a brilliant hat trick (and a c&b in the last over) which clearly has cost his Dad a Nando's. Rowan & Charlie pushed the score on impressively , however the wickets kept tumbling. The innings were completed to a modest , but defendable total, with some great batting from Louis and Olly with a score of 10 and 16 respectively.

P&S got off to a decent start and didn't lose a wicket until the 5th over. It was always going to be tight with such a low scoring game which meant wides and no balls would be costly. It was, in the end though, an impressive collective bowling display that eventually saw Portsmouth over the line along with 2 excellent run outs and a a rare maiden over (Oliver) and a great catch from Grayson. Special mention goes out to Charlie who on debut looked very aware and sharp in the field and took his first wicket.

Some points to improve on are backing up behind the stumps and general alertness in the field

Some real positives tonight and the team dug deep on a low scoring game that looked like it was there to lose - Well done B's .
