Newsletter #3 2019

Dear Friends and Members of Portsmouth Cricket Club

What a glorious Easter weekend. There was training for all age groups and two Friendly matches. On Saturday, we welcomed a Waterlooville team and on Sunday, we welcomed University of Portsmouth. Both games Portsmouth CC ran out winners. Notable performances included Matt Shaw 88 which is a significant improvement on the previous weekend's outing, a 50 retired not out by 1st XI captain Jack Marston and an impressive 50+ retired not out for new member James Holder on both Saturday and Sunday. Both games were played in excellent spirit and let us aspire for all of our teams to play to win but also ensure that our games are played in the spirit of cricket!

This weekend the competitive matches start in earnest please see below for details

Chairperson of the newly formed Cricket Committee Jerry Scott (Left) is keen to raise even higher the training and coaching sessions delivered to our young cricketers. New Colts Head Coach Shane Thompson is busy planning for each session to improve skills and yet be fun as well.  By using many coaches, the sessions contain a number of stations with an excellent coach to colt ratio.

Jerry is sporting the new coaching tops supplied by Limberline Tyres Limited and you will see all of our coaches and managers wearing these - easy to spot on a busy Friday Night.

Jim and Sally Tickner will be on BBQ Cooking Duty this week.
Thanks Guys!

Last Weeks BBQ was undertaken by our Treasurer
