Match report The Under 15B team got off to a storming start to the season with this 108 run win over a Portchester side that admittedly contained 7 Under 13s, whereas we only had 2! After Rohan Walters got out cheaply swinging across the line, Gio Avondo and Adam Heyes got the innings going, both retiring in the early 40s, having hit a 4 off their last ball. George MacKenzie and Scarlett Thomas also chipped in with runs late in the innings, getting 17 and 16 not out respectively. We reached 159 for 4 in our 20 overs, comfortably securing maximum batting points. We bowled very tidily without really looking like taking many wickets. Indeed, the first run from the bat came in the 8th over! George MacKenzie and Max Povey took early wickets, before Noah Renton came on and took two wickets in an over as Portchester were kept down to 51 for 4 in their 20 overs. Thank you to Joe Eales from the A team who came along but did not bat and only bowled the last over of off-spin and hopefully Iori Howells recovers from his groin strain in time for Sunday!
