PCC Ladies v Southern Stars
Portsmouth Ladies continued their winning ways with a simple but potentially never easy display.
Emily won the toss and decided to field.
Our opening bowlers Maya and Emily kept Southern Stars under pressure with some quality bowling where the ball was hooping around. Somehow their openers survived and it was Lauren as first change who made the breakthrough. Consistent and accurate well pitched up on off stump takes wickets at this level. Lauren quickly got her 2nd, another bowled and both the openers were gone.
A smart run out by Abi and Florie followed before the wickets started to tumble.
Evie bowling her pace on pace off cutters soon took 3 wickets, 2 bowled 1 from a nice catch by Emma and then Lauren getting her 3rd, bowled too, Southern Stars all out 37.

So a relatively simple task lay ahead ….until it goes wrong. We were not going to let that happen.

Emily changed up the order to bring Ladies into the game, Abi and Emily opened. A steady start before Emily is out which brings in Emma up the order.
Emma and Abi both crack nice fours before seeing us through to 38-1 off 9.4 overs.

Leading Lady honours to Lauren and Evie for their 3 wickets each.

Well done Ladies on a clinical win and onwards. 🏆

New Forest Women Sun 24th (A) will be a sterner test.
