Match report Match Report.

Wow we Win our first HCL League Division 3 match by …….3 runs in the last over.

The tension was exciting at the end and Maya kept her nerve to bowl straight and bowl out their top scorer when they needed 10 to win and had hit 5 off 2balls !!

We batted first and recovered to a decent 133 off 25 overs. Jo Chan opened and made an exciting 27, Freya helped out with a brisk 13 and Darcey held up her end with help from Issy 9 (celebrating her first ever 4!!) and RM for Darcey to end 55 NO!! Her first ever 50, Darcey’s celebration was something to see ha ha.

Then we started our bowling very tightly, a first over wicket for Evie Ct at WK by Flori was great cricket. We picked up a nice run out but then Redlynch started to fight back, Ruby Mae got a well needed wicket Ct by Maya but then Redlynch pushed on from 38-3 to 124 with one over to go.
Wides and no balls helped Redlynch get there, with note Flori had 0 byes recorded which as a WK is a very good day behind the stumps.

All the bowlers and fielders recognised the importance of bowling straight and saving runs putting their bodies on the line - Issy for example. Darcey had Captain duties and fair to say it was a tough innings to manage but she did well for her first time, other lessons learned too.

And so to the last over, Redlynch need 10, their two batters on a 90+ partnership looking to win the match … bring on Maya the Wicket slayer
