Portsmouth Win, keeps them joint Top of Div 3 with Hursley Park 3rds.
Ryde over from IOW with 8 players to match our 8. We had a strong team despite a number of absentees.

Emily won the toss and elected to Bat.
Getting off to a strong batting start was Jo Chan (28) and things were looking good until a succession of cheap wickets fell and only Immy Wallace stopped the rot with her highest ever score (17) I believe.

With a Total of only 94 to defend it was always going to be a tough order given Ryde's batter Alex Barton and her batting prowess.

Ryde got off to a spectacular start with Alex smashing 4's but with very little support the game changed at about 50 runs when Rydes other batters started getting out and Alex fell bowled to a beautiful straight ball from Lauren Urch. Suddenly with Alex gone the dynamics changed and Emily brought in the fielders and wickets for Emily MacKenzie (2), Lauren Urch on debut (2) and Star bowler for the day Evie Crane (3).

Rydes last wicket fell on a bright sunny day to an excited group of Ladies celebrating a victory that seemed improbable until Alex was clean bowled by Lauren's persistent straight bowling.

Well done all and a fine victory to enjoy.
