Portsmouth Cricket Club - 2024 Lost by 51 runs

Match report Thanks Rick, brilliant pitch, nicely positioned, we made it a long boundary as New Forest are so strong. Especially bowling so after a shakey start putting them in we bowled them out but not before they’d got to 150. We dropped 2 catches, lent them 45 in extras so it was always going to be tough.

Florie was WK and was pulled from pillar to post with balls flying in all directions.

Freya and Maya were the bowling pics both getting 2 wickets, plus a run out and catch respectively.

We pulled things back brilliantly starting with Ruby Mae’s first wicket of the season and First ever wickets for Millie and Isla. Darcey took 3 catches at short Mid Off plus a run out.

We could clip off 30/40 from them as we get better.

Some really good positives and then the batting was sensational!!!

Maya and Darcey opened and got off to a great start, bouncing along with some sensational 4’s. It ended Maya 22, Maddi 16 run out last ball trying to help Darcey get her 50, and so Darcey 49 No. she was so disappointed to miss her maiden 50 but was very happy to have seen off such a strong bowling attack.

Others were itching to get into bat which you all will when our matches are 35 overs.

So now after a most amazing First Ladies match sorry it’s a little lengthy but I’m a proud manager of this gang of Ladies.

Get back from Aus Tom lots of positives to work on.
