Match report PCC girls U16 cup match against Havant (Havant won the toss and elected to bowl)

This was such a fantastic win it deserves some notice. Our ‘younger’ ladies team were in their cup match, playing Havant. The under 16s were superb. Despite losing the toss (this seems to be a common occurrence for our teams…) we batted first and at the end of the 100 balls had 99 runs. For a group of lasses who are aged 12-16 they were head and shoulders above the opposition. Both Viola and Immy were in till retired and all balls were bowled, we only lost 2 wickets in total.

Then to our bowling, Liv opened, got a wicket in her 2nd over and her 4th, having only given up 5 runs in the 4 overs played. Freya had a fantastic maiden over, as did Immy along with Immy’s maiden wicket over (or whatever you call it!). The girls were truly on fire.

Really tight fielding meant the opposition really didn’t stand a chance, all girls playing so well together it was a joy to behold (even if slightly cold by this time in the evening!)

Girl of the match probably goes to Viola though (authors choice!) 1 because she was always so loud cheering on the bowler, that the scorers relied on her to know who was actually bowling due to their poor vision and not always being able to tell, but also for running out 3 players, well done Viola :)

The score at the end was 50 runs to Havant, 99 to us, total victory!

Girls you were brilliant, a totally great team, well done for your well deserved win.
